Kicking off the year, our vibrant new program supported by the State Government in partnership with Koondoola Primary School. Shoal will provide immersive workshops in writing, visual art, singing, and design, empowering young learners to explore their creativity and confidence. Led by our passionate facilitators, this initiative aims to unlock potential and inspire resilience through the arts. "Shoal aims to empower young minds through the arts," says Music Director Pia Harris.
"Partnering with Koondoola Primary, we will create opportunities for children to explore their creativity and connect with the community. Our goal is to inspire lifelong passion and resilience through artistic expression."

Breaksea Youth Ensemble

Building on our success, the Youth Ensemble will grow to include a new dance stream, led by renowned choreographer Jessica Ruggera. With weekly sessions in singing, acting, and now dance, young people aged 9 to 18 will have opportunities to develop their skills, collaborate on original works, and express themselves fully. “Creating a space where young people can explore dance alongside other art forms is incredibly exciting,” states Artistic Director Matt Ward. “It’s about giving them the tools to express themselves fully, connect with their peers, and learn from established artists. Our youth ensemble continues to be a vital part of our mission to inspire and empower regional youth through the arts.”
