Good things come to those who wait!
Created by Breaksea and the multi-award-winning musical duo Gina Williams-Ghouse and Guy Ghouse, Aliwah Bardinar! (Look Out, Rosella!) is a vibrant children’s production celebrating the nyttiny (creation) story of how the Bardinar (Western Rosella) got its magnificent colours. Through a mix of spoken dialogue, solo, and ensemble singing, the show highlights the profound beauty of the Noongar language.
Audiences are entranced by a cast of memorable characters—including a cheeky frog and an elegant swan—brought to life through inspired set design, vivacious choreography, and gorgeous puppetry. The project aligns with Breaksea's commitment to telling important stories and sharing cultural legacies through top-tier arts productions.
Premiering at the Albany Entertainment Centre in 2025, Aliwah Bardinar! was also performed at the AWESOME Festival at the Health Ledger Theatre before embarking on a Shows on the Go Tour with CircuitWest in 2026.
Aliwah Bardinar! is a testament to the power of collaborative storytelling. The work stands as a joyous celebration of community, language, and cultural revival.
